I'm looking at the Bell & Carlson stocks for the M700.

They list one thats the Alaskan TI (similar fit to the M70 EW stock), the other i'm looking at is the BDL/CDL model (has molded checkering, and a slimmer grip)

Anyone have the BDL/CDL model?, thoughts?

Cheers,

They're ok,

Much better than OEM but inletting can be crude, they're heavy, but stiff. For the price they are worthwhile but a McMillan they are not

I have an un-checkered Medallist on my Rem 700 BDL in .30-06. That bedding chassis makes installation a breeze. I did out of habit bed the first 3 or 4 inches of barrel too. The stock is nice to handle and the rifle shoots sub-MOA with all bullet weights that I have tried, i.e. 150, 165 and 180-grain. I find that even though I am a HUGE fan of wraparound checkering, the stippled finish of the stock, which is grey with black web, gives me all the grip I require at that recoil level.
I recently bought a Model 7 with the factory Tupperware stock; if I can't make it shoot I will happily buy another B&C stock. They may not be cutting edge, but they do the job very well for me.

They're nice stocks. The Mountain Ti has a bedding block, the Alaskan has pillars and would likely require glass bedding. My 700 Mountain SS came in a Mountain stock with the bedding block, I did a Devcon glass bedding job anyways.

I went ahead and bought the Bell & Carlson BDL/CDL model with the checkering. Wow!, nice stock. Way nicer than the M70 EW stock or the factory stock on the M700 mountain rifle.

Really nice fit, slim in the wrist with a larger cheek piece. Helped tighten up my grouping too, don't think I'll bother with any bedding.

I just bought a Bell & Carlson SA A2 Varmint, for a M700 Remington. The varmint A2 is a heavy stock. The in-letting was good. The action fit was tight, the first time I tried to mate the stock and action together, but then it just fit together perfectly.

Ordered mine from Prophet River.

GMC403, that is a beauty looking stock!
