B.C. Tweesmuir Park roads closed

I have learned that the roads going into the Management Unit 6-02, zone B, Tweedsmuir Park, British Columbia, was, years ago, closed by a local float plane operator, in order for him to create more business for his fly in service of hunters to this particular region ?

Few years ago, I did drive up to these multiple road barricades, made of tall log debris, blocking any attempt to drive on the road, into the zone B of Management Unit 6-02, and even made it impossible to drive, when using a fourtrax.

My first thought when I came to this unexpected man made barrier was: Our government closed this road in order to create a sanctuary for the local wildlife ! I chocked to learn that this kind of commercial vigilantisme against hunters, is being tolerated by the British Columbia Government :(
 
wtf do u care snowhunter...traditional native hunters didnt have anything but their feet to hunt, so u should be g2g
 
nemesys, we Inuits also hunts from kayaks and boats :)

This is clearly a case where, rich, non-natives are blocading and preventing other, not so rich, non-natives from hunting a certain area of Crown Land.

RoadAppleRed, it would take many days, if not a couple o weeks to make a track with chain saw, chains and 4X4. This blocade has been made with heavy equipment in rows, bloking the road, as long as the eye can see.

Cheaper and faster to charter a plane to get in there and hunt :)
 
What does it matter which nationality is blocked out of an area because of a self interested rich dink. A blocked road is a blocked road, white, black or red matters not!!!
 
if u hunt from kayaks, then what's the problem? This road problem shouldnt concern a traditional hunter such as yourself :rolleyes:
 
I would not be surprised if all, or most of the float plane orperators in that area, as well as the guiding outfit have polled their money together, to have that particular road in Tweedsmuir Park closed to any competition from B.C. resident hunters, traveling cheaply, at their convinience of their own car or fortrax.

Often, these few moneymaking businesses in remote areas, have exellent political and other important relationships with the various government agencies, which will help to protect these, otherwise vigilante prone businesses in return for political donations ?

Few years ago, the Guide/Outfitter at Kluachesi Lake in Norther B.C., did block this remote, puplic airstrip, build with tax payer dollars, with a couple of canoe's for anyone, exept for planes carrying his costumers. The courts and the RCMP forced the vigilante Guide/Outfitter to respect the law of the land, and this particular, puplic airststrip is now open again for anyone with a small plane.

Could the same legal action be taken against those vigilante's, and force them to reopen this puplic road into Tweedsmuir Park ?

We have public land blocked from for hunting here in N Ont too, so outfitters can have exclusive rights to it :rolleyes: So lets see our Gvt gives them exclusive hunting property in prime locations, & handfull of free tags & Joe blow gets to compete in a pool for a tag requireing 10-15 tag applications :mad:
 
However, this highly effective, and unmanded, blockade of have been created in secret, and so far been kept as a secret, and been a real money maker for the local, political well connected, vigilante float plane operators.

Well then take pictures and report it to as many authority figures as you can. Write all the local newspapers. Get enough of the public to know about it, and the authorities will have to take action.

I have to to think of whom to contact in order ot have this puplic road to Tweedmuir Park reopened again. Any suggestions ?

In the case of the illegal closure of the puplic airstrip at the Kluachesi Lake by the local Guide/Outfitter, the court and RCMP acted swiftly, since planes, not carrying costumers for the Guide/Outfitter, comming in for landing had to abort or crash land.

I do not have any pictures of this massive, man made barrier of the log debris, illegally blocking the only road into the Tweedsmuir Park, but I will check to see if this barrier is visible, next time I came around a computer that, unlike mine, have "google earth".

Your local papers would be a good place to start. Then who ever is responsible for the maintenance of the road, what ever public works it is in your area
 
It would require a backhoe and a bulldozer to clear this massive barricade, set up by the local float plane operator(s), in order to prevent cheap "competitions" from B.C. resident hunters, who would no longer need their float plane services to reach this remote, Tweedsmuir Park for hunting.

I'm not a bloody troll senior, and I am most certainly not new - and the only vendetta I have against Snowhunter is his constant "whitey can do no good, redman can do no wrong" diatribe. Check his post history, apart from a couple of posts in this thread, they all are blathering nonsense. I have no personal qualms with Snowhunter, I just hate his ISP for giving him the ability to tell other people his nonsense
