B-Square M1A Scope Mount

answer to 1- yes- answer to to 2- no- it's a waste of money unless you have one of the old chinese 305/m14s with the ground receiver- and then you have to get the old b-square mount, not the new one- it compensates for the angle grind with set screws- the new one won't hold zero- get a arms 18 , smith, etc- something made from steel-

Is galvanic corrosion a serious problem with non-steel scope mounts?
I don't see where it would be. Usually you need some amount of electricity flowing through the metal to promote galvanic corrosion. As an example, your electrical system in your house is grounded to the plumbing. Aluminum stereo amps. in your car are grounded through the casing. Now, I could be wrong but I have never heard or experienced such a problem as this with rifles/mounts.

On the other hand, aluminum scope mounts heat up at a different rate than the rifle itself and may become misaligned until everything cools off again. This is the biggest arguement against aluminum mounts.
