B&T Magwell adapter for VZ/CZ , anyone have any experience with it?

Still trying to find a gunsmith and time to drop it off to have the machining done on mine. I will say that the quality of the product is very nice, b&t makes nice stuff. The mag release button is on the left side though if you are a left hand shooter it's not as easy as hitting it with your thumb, Gota reach around with your index finger a bit. A few guys on here love theirs, only complaint (if you call it one) is the bolt hold open is gone with this system. But with only 10 rounds to bang off its easy to know if you've gone through all of them and if your still unsure, pull the bolt open and have a quick check. Lots of ak users out there that have no complaints with not having a bolt hold open do just that.

Sweet, thanks for the reply man, I see one of these in my near future, probably just gonna send my rifle to wolverine supplies to get it done. Or hopefully they have the rifle in by that point and just order it complete.

I phoned wolverine a month ago. Asked about how much it would be and turn around time. Not good. He said by the time it was said and done it would cost around $350 and have a turn around time of 6 weeks!. Apparently they don't do it in house anymore, they have to send it off to another gunsmith and that's where the big cost and time comes from.

A friend of mine had one, so I've seen it, and tried it.

It does in fact allow you to use XCR pistol magazines in your model 58. The gun would jam about ever fifty rounds or so. Not sure if that's the gun or the mag adapter's fault.

I was able to convert my SKS to use the same magazine and KEEP the bolt hold open, and in the few hundred rounds I've put through it, not a single failure.

I have one on my 7.62 and I love it. Super solid and the xcr mags drop free, release is very smooth. I really don't foresee any issues, unless you count not being able to use any other mags an issue.

Ok, now that interests me, how hard was it to get it on the SKS? I am far from a gun smith, but dont have any issues working on one and such. I would assume some of the stock would need to be shaved out, but as far as metal on metal goes, do you mind showing me some pics? Did you replace the entire box mag set up? Or just the latching part that swings down when you open it?

Yup, two back to back 10 rounders and it's pretty much an AR mag. Feels much better then the original cz mags and I promise you won't miss 'em.

Yes and thank-you for letting me shoot it that day. I really like your mag release lever too.
Still waiting for you to make me 1 too and no I don't care about butchering an sks either.

This has come up a few times - did the search function not provide any results for you? ;)

I might have one installed in my CZ858 and it might work flawlessly with XCR pistol mags - depends who's parsing my posts these days... ;)

I had a local smith install and the machining was very minimal, think he charged me 100 bucks to machine / install.

Did you try searching B&T and see what comes up before leaving this ? There is your answer.
