B&T TP-9 or FAMAE Mini SAF

I recently found a Mini Famae Saf for sale NIB. The man wants $3,000.00 Seems a little extravagant to me. I guess he figures since we cannot buy them new anymore that he can charge the big dollar. I have a Famae now and love it, and would dearly love to add it's smaller sibling to the collection, but damn that is a bit rich. I guess if you think about it though, a SIG CQB is the same price, and the Famae is a Sig design as well.

Do yourself a favour and buy the CQB instead.
Mags for the Famae are like rocking horse turds...rare and s**t!
You wil never have any parts support and you could end up with a very expensive 'wall hanger'...
I've had a Famae...nothing to write home about....

Don't judge the guy too harshly. Think about what a Valmet 78 cost in the '80's compared to what people will pay for it today.

If you are looking at it as a collector's piece, think about it this way: There are guys who paid $2500 for their FAMAE's new and the guns are no longer available in Canada - never have been in the US. So with that in mind, $3000 is not an unreasonable price for a NIB piece.

I own a CQB and have fired a SAF. While the Famae is definetly a neat little SMG, the quality is certainly not comparable to the CQB.

Oh yea I own a TP-9 as well...very cool.

Foxbat, I solved the mag problem by using modified uzi mags. Waaaay better. Your right about the stock ones.

SPI you might be right that it isn't all that unreasonable price for something that isn't available in the States or Canada anymore. I'm going to have to think about this. Thanks for the help guys.

Oh Dave, how do you like the TP9, and what optic is mounted on yours?

It's not something that I take out and shoot much, but it's a fun gun and built solid as a rock. Ergonomics are great and it points naturally with the stock folded or extended. Relaibity with it has been 100% (it doesn't have a a whole lot of rounds through it mind you) and the rotating barrel is just plain cool. The only drawback I can think of is the trigger pull is long and mushy. Despite this it does seem fairly accurate though, for something so small. It was wearing a trijicon reflex in the last pic.

That plus the Famaes were never intended to be sold to civilians!
