Just happened to be in one of those "right place at the right time" & picked up a bnib Brass Aluminum Forged Upper recently (offset square forge marking) for a decent price. I know from some google-fu, that BA Uppers are used by BCM, Stag, DPMS & RRA at various times. This particular unit is a matte finish with m4 feed ramps in place.

I tried lining this one up with my Noveske Gen II Lower and the take down holes are a hair off on the rear one & it's a b*^ch to actually lock into place, providing an ultra tight fit. I haven't had a chance to try this Upper on a friends Aero or NEA lowers to see if it lines up any better or worse.

I was wondering if any members on here have utilized one for a build and their thoughts or findings are similar?

Cheers

Noveske Gen II's are particularly tight. They usually match them in house to Noveske uppers. I suggest you take some very fine sandpaper and work the holes a bit on the upper. You can usually get it to fit like a glove with a little work. Sometimes its just a small amount of the anodizing thinned off to make it work.

Thanks Hilo, I'll line it up with the afore-mentioned Uppers, before I take to the fine grit sandpaper method.

Cheers

BAFE seems to be very common.
Most uppers I've seen either have a keyhole, Cerro Forge, or the Square BAFE.
I have one of each. I got my BAFE from Dlask, and I am under the impression that it was finished by Dlask.

It mates just fine to my Dlask lower. I'll know soon enough how it mates to my new Mag Tac lower that is in the mail as we speak.
It mates tighter to my Lower then the Cerro does, but I think that's just the stack.

Best I can tell, It's a typical mil spec upper. Should mate properly to any mil-spec lower with no special exceptions.

I bet it will line up perfect with the Aero lower.

Your situation is just likely a matter of circumstance, you just happen to have 2 pieces that are stacked just slightly away from each other, and nether part is technically out of spec.

On the bright side, once you've done the fitting, you'll end up with 2 pieces that fit tighter/better then they would had they stacked correctly.
