I cast a bunch of swc314-93tl out of mostly pure lead with a little tin, powder coated them in masey red sized them to .311 and put them on top of 4.6 grains of trail boss with SB LR primers in mixed brass. What a fun round, shot great amazing accuracy. What I was surprised at was penetration, these little red crayons punched through 36" of water and kept on humming.

I'm betting you're still giggling like a little kid after shooting those mild loads.
I've done similar loads with my 30-30 and 303's.

I've got a bunch loaded up for when buddies show up with their little kids who want to shoot a "grown up" gun. Kicks and sounds just like a .22

Very interesting.
Do you have any pics you could post?
I am curious about the powder coating you applied to them.

Reduced loads are fun!!!
How was the boolit drop? My 3030 cast shoot real low but accurate. I have no chrony but they sure shred books and trees out to 50ms. 303 Is by far the funest to load, if it fits in the mag and cycles you will giggle. 3030 is a bit harder unless you load singley, load to COL or use 3030 specific boolits.
Be well.

They dropped right on the money at .314 after pcing they were .3155 and I sized them to .311 for my Mosin and my .303 I plan to shoot them as is. They fed perfectly threw my 94.

They dropped about 5" at 75m. Sorry no pics this time next time I will, I got the pc from emerald coatings, I called and asked which ones other people had said worked for boolits.

I have done this using trailboss for my sons 30-30. No recoil and big smiles on his face. The only problem is he fired 100 rounds in one range trip!

I shoot that little boolit in my 30-30,300 Sav. X39 an 54r sized .311" in US cal. rifles and .314" in the 54r and SKS. My powder of choice is Alliant Bullseye and I like 3.0 grs. in the X39 and 3.5 grs. in everything else. Velocity run between 900 an 1100 fps. depending on case and charge weight.

Accuracy is as good as you can hold it at 50 yds. I cast mine form pure lead and lube once before and once after sizing with Alox/JPW lube. Excellent plinker ,pest and small game load.

I've shot hundreds+ of Lee 93 grain over 5 grains of 700X. Makes for great plinking without recoil and noise. I have shot these at our indoor range. I use 700x for a lot of different plinking loads for .303, 30-06, 8x57 and so on. Now that I have a chronograph (Caldwell), I can check the GPS. Bought the darn thing last year, got it all laid out, then got called to work!

Similar here. Have been working with titegroup under cast in 8mm, but can only really develop with a chrony(delivered by easter Bunny this weekend). The whole reason I got into reloading was for gallery/plinking rounds as I got sick of chasing bulk rimfire.

yesterday I found in the back of a ammo cabinet in my local hardware store 3 cans of 700x taped together labelled "old" for $9.00 . one can was almost empty but the other two were full and sealed. Score! I use mostly Unique, Red dot and SR7625 and look forward to trying the 700x
