Baby Browning lube question

I had my Baby Browning out at the range today. It was jamming frequently with AE FMJ's. The empties were ejecting but the next round was hanging up between the magazine and the chamber.

I had fired it previously without problems.

I have it lubed pretty lightly with gun oil only. Does it need grease on the rails or should I oil it more heavily?

Any advice would be welcome.

It sounds more like a magazine or ammunition problem to me, mine works fine only lightly oiled but I shoot mostly reloads in mine. Is this the first time you tried the AE FMJ's?

I had shot AE FMJ's with it before and only had one FTE.

I'm going to scrub it down, oil it very lightly and try it again.

Check the mag lips to see if something has changed _ bent?
lube should not make any diffence .

It's hard to say without knowing the situation better, but you might consider replacing the recoil spring. If the gun is old and has been fired frequently, the springs do lose function over time. If scrubbing and lubing don't do it, you might consider contacting Wolff for a replacement spring. It's not expensive and it might be the solution. The only other things I can think of have been mentioned before: magazine problem and ammunition. With any autoloader, when these things start occurring, it's often best to start by investing in some different ammo brands and trying them. If they all hang up, then, assuming there are no burrs at the feed point, the mag sounds like the problem. Good luck. They're nice little pistols and I wish I could get the license to own one.
