Well I'm almost ready for my first .40cal S&W,just not sure what to get. Lets here some pro's and con's on the Magnum Research Baby Desert Eagle 40 S&W with the steel frame, are they well built, and are they fussy with ammo?

I am also looking at a Glock G20 10mm,then picking up a .40cal barrel conversion from Questar,I'm just having a hard time getting over the looks of the Glock, and I'm not sure I want a plastic gun.

Thanks, Jeff ;)

An Israeli made pistol based off the CZ 75 is nothing but quality. You mentioned the Glock 20, but why not just get a Glock 22? Both the Baby Eagle and Glock are great pistols, except they fit very differently, so try and feel them before choosing.

And it's not "Baby Desert Eagle" it's called a Baby Eagle, or Jericho. A baby desert eagle would be useless.

Why get a Copy if you can have the Original for less?
My nickel plated CZ 75 in 40 S&W is not only beautiful, it is also very accurate and not at all fussy about my reloads...
Then there is the STI Trojan in 40 S&W, very well made and what a pleasure to shoot; freehanded five shoot one hole groups at 15 meters, and I am not an expert by all means...

You may also go 1911 route; you can get 10mm barrel for a .40S&W 1911 or .40 for 10mm one if you want to have an option to shoot 2 calibers with the same gun.

Thanks for the replies,I have got the new search function figured out now. I was thinking about the G20 10mm,then the .40 S&W conversion barrel for obvious reasons.I already have a CZ SP01 Shadow in 9mm that is definately a keeper, but I am interested in other manufacturers besides CZ.

I baught a Baby Eagle chrome 9mm for my girlfriend a while back. I would have to say that I realy love the single pull action alot. also the pointability with this hand gun is great. I find my self time to time sneeking it to the range when my girlfriend can't come. I gesus one of these day's I'll get caught.

Thanks gents!

I still haven't purchased my "first" yet. I think I've narrowed it down to a Springfield 1911, however, I've heard nothing but good about the Baby Eagle. Price sounds reasonable too.
