nah could be alright , my 303 with the rings off the hawkeye.

is it just me or does the rings not look right? the rear is a number #5 and the front is a #4 its how it was off the hawkeye.... could be different strokes for different folks though?

cheers

WL

Some Rugers have staggered sizes and some don't. The #1's mostly take two of the same height. A pair of #4's should get it done right.

This is correct!! The #1 Ruger rifles use two rings of the same height.
As Looky mentioned, you probably damaged your scope by mounting it in two different height rings.
Dave.

if I sit it back straight an tighten it a bit, wont it bender back in if it was out a bit??
is the damage potentially internal?

hmmmm

shoot n see? only way? adjust it around a square?

It depends on how much you want to spend on ammo before the lightbulb goes on that it's pooched. Laugh2 There's no "bender" back. If it's bent,it's garbage.

Haha, yeah i wonder ,
What or how does it ruin the scope?

If it shoots a dozen to the same spot, isnt it good to go or am i missing a bit?

Shoot a square, if you tightened the rings down though the scope is probably pooched. Don't know until you try though. As mentioned, the M77 takes two rings of different height and the No. 1 have two of the same height. Did the No. 1 not come with rings?

alright, an looking for cracks on the tube an appears none, which wouldnt let gas out.

I will just have to wait and see with a proper set of rings!
thanks

Nah mate it was 2nd hand thru a gun store,..... so they woulda took the rings if it came with it? or the original owner kept em.

while on subject, sounds suss... but how tight would u guys tighten a scope an which way? oneside first then the other? all evenly?
avoid crushing or crush the tube a bit? screw em til its tight?

might sound sus but I have not mixed an matched scopes, or plan to as much as this week coming.... ideally, don't wanna kept Foorking scopes by #boganstuffups LOL
