Baby done a bad bad thang - update page 8

while on subject, sounds suss... but how tight would u guys tighten a scope an which way? oneside first then the other? all evenly?
avoid crushing or crush the tube a bit? screw em til its tight?

About 15 inch lbs for ring screws, or if you use a small allen key instead of a torque screw driver, grip the allen key with your thumb and finger on the short leg and tighten them up so you don't over do it.

On the plus side, you probably have enough built in elevation now to shoot into space. :)

100 moa downrail and he should be fine.

Sooo, how do i know if my scopes shagged? (No good)

Ive pulled it apart but cant be sure ??

Is the scope tube dented or wrinkled? If you have an optical bore-sighter, see if the adjustments still track, if they do, shoot the rifle to see if it holds zero. You might have lucked out if you didn't crank the ring caps down too tight. If the scope is done, its a lesson you will remember long into the future, but depending on its make, you might get warranty.

He has her mounted pointed downhill. Perfect for sitting on the hilltops poking at Sambar down in the valleys. He only needs to align the vertical with a stag and the horizontal with the next hill over. Perfect downhill BDC set-up for .303 if I ever saw one!! :p
