when I push the magazin in. I can reproduce this even with an empty gun. I lock the slide back properly, and when I hit the bottom of the gun the slide goes back. The gun is brand new, I've shot just 5 box of ammo through it. I verified the slide catch and the slide, they look OK, no break or wear.
What can cause this and how can it be fixed?? Any suggestion? Should I worry about it at all?

Mine does the same and it also releases the slide if you slam the mag in. I think it is a design feature (I could be wrong), don't worry, no problems.
 
Lots of pistols do this... not a problem. Considering you are TRYING to chamber a round when you load a mag, it's just saving you one step. :) Just make sure you are pointing in a safe direction, blah blah blah.

Thanks for the good words, I've already had sleepless nights because of the thought that my new (and first ever) gun is seriously ill. I will sleep (and hopefully shoot) better now. :)
 
I'm just thinking... If it is a design feature, then the gun has a problem, because it happens only sometimes. (approx. 6 out of 10 magchange) If it is not a design feature, then the gun has a problem, because it happens too often. :(
So I called Magnun Research, and the guy told me I would better send the gun in. So my question is how the inspection/repair works here in Canda for a gun which is just a few weeks old?? Do I really have to send it to the US???
 
I don't think it's a design feature, but it is normal.

I think you're worrying too much. Don't bother sending it to the US... what are they going to do? Change the laws of physics?

The reason it happens is because the slide stop wants to stay put (law of inertia), and when you slam a mag home, the gun moves upwards, but the slide stop is only connected on one end, and can still rotate. The result of the gun moving 'up' is the same as if you pushed the slide stop 'down', thereby releasing the slide.

Maybe a bad explanation, but really that's what is happening. Not a design feature, just a result of it being designed that way! :)
 
Stop worrying and if it really bugs you stop slamming the mags home. Just insert them.

As was said many different pistols exhibit this property. As long as it doesn't fire as well then you're good.
 
I wouldn't worry about it all if it was consistent. But it is annoying that sometimes the slide goes forward, sometimes not. Slam the mag, aim, pull the trigger, nothing.... sh$t. At this time it remained back.. :(
The other problem I experience with this gun is quite lot of FTF. (~5 during the first 8 boxes of ammo) When I give a little push to the side it chambers the round. (147gr. WinClean)
Could these 2 things together be the result of a week recoil spring? If perhaps it is, what is the standard procedure of a warranty repair of a handgun here is canada?
