Baby Eagle... or Baby Crap?

BE's are really nice guns, but the blued finish is the absolute ####'s on them.

If they come up with a different finish, I'd buy another one for sure. Hell, if I had the money I'd buy one and have it refinished myself.

When I was in Israel I fired both the Jericho and the Glock 17 and found the Jericho a more accurate and comfortable pistol to shoot. Although my friend who was IDF Major did carry a Glock.

Wrong again. Both the slides and frames are forged. I guess you don't really know much about Baby Eagles, do you.
WRONG. All Tanfoglio/EAA/IMI/Magnum Research CZ-style pistols have investment cast frames and slides manufactured by Tanfoglio. Armalite AR-24 is the only forged steel CZ-clone.

Get your facts straight before you start rolling your eyes.

I've toured the Tanfoglio factory. Have you?
No, but my buddy's grandma's bingo partner is the majority shareholder of Tanfoglio and I got that information directly from her....

As far as I'm concerned, you are just a nameless guy on the internet. I don't care what you claim to have toured. Everything I've read on the subject indicates that Tanfoglio-made pistols are investment cast. The Baby Eagle that I once examined had obvious bumps/pores from the casting process that were not polished off on the inside of the pistol.

I would be happy to be proven wrong, but you'd have to come up with something a little more convincing than "I toured the Tanfoglio factory".

I owned 2 40's they had FTF issues dry slide issues after a few hundred rounds, The slide lock lever on them starting cracking after only a few thousand rounds. Its not a good gun. There heavy, and shiny and they are accurate but I wouldnt be willing to bet my life on it. You need a gun that is reliable and the Baby Eagle is not the gun. However if you want to stand on a line and shoot paper than by all means go ahead.

Oh and all the people I talked to about the decock feature sure liked decock.

My only complaint is the safety mechanism and its location on the slide. If you grab the slide and pull it back, its a little harder to grip and feels a little strange. Forget about holstering with the hammer back........the safety is small and needs to be pushed upwards - a little too tricky IMO. So forget about the safety and take advantage of the DA/SA. Oh - why does it have a safety? I have no idea! A thumb release safety, like on most 1911, would have been more appropriate and useful  Other than that, I like the weight, the feel in my hands and the look of it. I haven't shot it yet, so my review stops there.
