Am looking at Getting a Baby eagle and am wondering if anyone has one and can tell me how they shoot. Also is there any good reason other then cost why I should get a CZ instead?

Thanks
Dave

Pretty much the same gun as far as I can tell...... except for the full length dust cover on the Eagle. Use the same mags for both.

The Eagle has a polygonal barrel, as opposed to rifle lands...........

I shoot the CZ and my son shoots the Baby Eagle.

They are of almost the same design but the grip of baby eagle is better than the CZ and IMO baby Eagle look cool. I have CZ and I love it. Buy whatever you feel better.

I've shot a CZ-75BD then the CZ-85Combat for about 2 years in IPSC, but I had too many problems with it, so I switched away to tanfoglios. I have a baby eagle which another shooter is using, and there are no problems at all there (had I bought the BE before i got the tanfoglio, I'd be shooting that now). I like the baby eagle mags much better than the factory CZ ones; the factory BE trigger is the best of any production gun I've ever tried (MUCH better than the CZ, I found, BUT: I bought a used BE, I don't think any work has been done on it). I also like the decocker, so people who don't feel comfortable manually decocking can shoot it in production (yes, there are SOME CZ models with decockers). Personally, I like the look of the full length cover better, plus that is more weight, so i guess more recoil absorbition.

Just my $0.02

I was debating the same choice myself, ie, Baby Eagle vs CZ 75. Your choice should be influenced by what your expected use is. I am interested in IPSC and the CZ comes in several styles that will give you adjustable sights, extended mag release, expanded mag well, compensators, etc. that are useful for this sport. I'm not sure if you can get all these extras with the Baby Eagle, but it sure feels good in your hand. I'm still doing the homework on this too so would appreciate anyone who can add some information.

The CZ reliability is hit or miss. I have seen many IPSC shooters that had reliability problems with the CZ. Mostly with extration and broken slidestop/trigger springs. PM Bartledan and he'll write you an essay on his bad experience.

Try the tangfolio....the Stock is Stainless steel, Heavy Bull Barrel, nice FO sights, and the DA trigger can be brought down allot. The stock is not the regular off the production line pistol it is fitted allot better. Allot of shooters are switching.

I use a 75B also, 3 seasons, never had a problem with it. I have heard some horror stories about the CZ family...so far for me though couldn't ask for a better pistol.

I've never tried the Baby Eagle, but it does look sweet.

Whatever you're comfortable with I guess :D

i'd say go with the BE, it has a nicer trigger and a better level of overall finish. It is very heavy tho, being all steel frame/slide. On a note, not all BE's have poly rifling. My buddy's came stock with lands/grooves. I don't care for the decocker on teh BE tho, too small for my liking, i much preferred the one on the sig p220 i used to have. also teh BE has a full length guide rod, which teh CZ doesn't. I couldn't shoot my CZ worth a damn accuracy wise... always hit high for me, i haad much better lluck with the BE.

Am getting a 9mm since I have a 45 already
And the reason I looking at the BE is Look cool factor and I liked the tigger better then the CZ.
I just want to make sure the BE is NOT a lemon that looks nice.
I heard that its big brother the DE has problems with parts breaking.

By the sounds of it sofar theres no draw backs with the BE

I have a BE and my kids (2 girls & 1 boy) are using it. The full length dust cover puts a bit more weight in the front and keeps muzzle flip down. Nicely finished and no problems so far.

Note that some have polygonal and some cut rifled barrels. Mine is cut rifled which I preferred as I handload and the cut rifled barrels "can" have better results with plated and lead bullets.

go for the BE or Jericho, much better finish and fit, there are many varinats of this gun, decocking, frame safety( #### and lock) and dao. but cz is not bad either, good luck
