Just curious. For Production div which gun is better? Owners of both guns please gimme some feedback. I notice the weight of both guns are about the same (2.6 lb) but the SP-01 has a longer barrel (4.7") compared to Baby Eagle's 4.52". Both guns have a lot of weight at the muzzle.

I also heard that fibre optics is only legal for the CZ in IPSC, but then there's this $150 price difference between the guns.

IPSC production shooters please give advices.

I would go with the CZ I there both about the same weight but the longer barrel could help you more with accuracey and you can't put a fiber optic sight on a production gun if you where going to use it in stock you could. My opinion I would go with the SP-01 buts thats just my opinion I am sure other people would be able to help you out!

Actually fiber optic sights has been approved in the production division for CZ ONLY, which kinda does give the CZ an edge, but I'm just not sure if the fiber optic sight is worth the extra $$

i guess you have to ask yourself if you really need fibre optic sight... but regardless, if you want something to give you an edge, consider a G17, as you can lighten the trigger and change to aftermarket sights and still be prod legal...

Not GLOCK, you can only have fiber optic sight for the CZ. Because the importer of CZ for the States, Angus Hubdell somehow got it approved with the IPSC production division. And I tried G17 and sold it, the accuracy... is just not on par with CZ, B-Eagle, or any 1911 copies. If you go on the CZ-USA website you will see the SP-01 "shadow" version specifically designed by Angus Hubdell for IPSC production... Of course it's even more expensive than the conversional SP-01...

as far as i can tell there is nothing wrong /w the accuracy of G17s... /w the heine sights and 3.5lb disconnects i've been told people do quite well in production....

however, its like any gun its all about whether it feels good, and i guess it just didn't fit you... well good luck /w the CZ maybe borrow one to shoot before you commit yourself to one...

good luck

I tried the B-Eagle, it's a neat little gun. But the grip might have been a bit big for my preference... I like the single stacked 1911 grip size. Would like to try the SP-01... but haven't got the chance.
