You have to use Johnson&Johnson though.........
The most knowledgeable person I've encountered about stock finishing posted for years on the Rimfire Central forum. His screen name on that forum was noremf, and he has passed away, sadly, recently. Noremf was the forum resident expert on all things to do with wood stocks. The one no-no he preached was using anything with mineral oil in it on wood, especially if it also contained silicone.Just bought a gallon of mineral oil off Amazon and will use it for a lot of things including sewing machines and guns.
Don't think it's ideal for wood finishes but would be interested in learning more about that.

A friend cleaned his wood stove with baby oil, once. Damn, that stove looked good. We then spend the evening in the shed, waiting for the smoke and smell to dissipate.
No clue. Anything pine scentedLol!
Would you recommend any other body lotions, lube or creams for a wood stove clean-up?
