Back from the Grouse Hunt!

Hey, I just got back from a Grouse hunt, just North East of Parry Sound. In one half day of hunting, we saw a total of 10 birds. We only got 4 because the traffic in the area made the birds quite skitish. We could have had one or two more birds if we weren't going for the 'artistic impression' head shots with the .22. Those 4 birds were enough to feed us though. They were quite the nice size!

Saw tons of 'em yesterday, around a dozen in 2 hours in the morning! All really far away and very skittish, though, and we only got 2.

I was up at the lake last week for a couple of days, got about 10 or 12 while deer hunting. Mix of Blues and Ruffies. Here's Sasha with 2 Blues and a Ruff. I give some old fellas I know grouse and trout, they because of age no longer can get out and it is better than a T-bone steak to them.
