Back from the North Shore - Scope Upgrade on Post #21

Scope Upgrade

Box just showed up from Hirsch Precision (2 days earlier than quoted, thanks Peter!) with my new Sightron SIII 10-50x60 LRTD. Medium TPS rings are JUST high enough.

FYI for anyone looking at the 10-50 and wanting the sunshade, it is HEAVY (about 1/3 of a pound!) but is a very nice piece and obviously intended to be a solid as the scope body.

Thansk for the heads up on the sun shade- I've been thinking of a Sightron as a weight saver. Might decide to attempt a lighter Red Green alternative.

A lighter alternative might be to use a sunshade from an 8-32; it's a much lighter piece, and I was able to spin it on with no issues.

Will be interested in reading your feedback/comparison between the 8-32x56 and the 10-50x60 you know have on it, which at 60mm merits a no matter how you see it (pun intended )
