Back from the taxidermist. New idea for hanging big heavy skulls.

........or use black drywall screws.

Really great job, Noel. Very good idea. You should keep your eye out for some elm pallets, as well. Guy here rips and planes them, then uses it to build gorgeous gun cases.

That the bull you got with your 9.3?

Speaking of being blessed with a wife that hunts, I have been married to a gorgeous gal for 40 years that still goes with me every fall, and often is the first to connect. :)

Hi Ted!

You are indeed blessed my friend! Beware the Lady who go afield with the intention of filling a tag for she is going to do it!

Thanks for posting that picture. It's great. :)

That is the bull that fell to the little 9,3 that could.;) What an adventure!

I did test the plaque with two #10 wood screws on the wall at work, hanging with all my body weight off the "hook" portion and it was sound. For safety reasons I bolstered it up to the equivelent of a 1/4" wood screw. It is higher than I first thought, more like 11 feet off the floor to the tip of it's nose.
I don't want there to be any chance for an accident to happen. I love that moose, but boy do I love my rambunxtious (sp) kids too! I am a big fan of overkill in such a case as this one.;)
