We just got out of the mountains in Azerbaijan from one of the most dangerous and physically demanding hunts I've ever done. What an incredible adventure. I took this great 9 year old tur with the 270WSM at 279 yards after a terrifying stalk in the steepest terrain I've ever set foot in. I can't say enough about the quality of the hunting and people over here. It's definitely one for the bucket list!

Base camp was at around 8,000 feet and was pretty simple. There was a small stone hut that was used as a kitchen/dinning area and a few nylon two-man tents. Only two hunters at a time are in this camp and this year it will see a total of three hunters. It was nothing fancy but it served the purpose. From there we climbed to 12,000-13,000 feet each day to hunt. Most days we left camp around 7:00am and never got back before 10:00pm. It made for some long, grueling days!
 
Yes it was just for tur. They do have chamois, bear and roe deer but not in sufficient numbers to really offer hunts for.
