'back up' rifle when hunting

While I have and love the x-bolt, I have to agree with stubblejumper. There are far too many fantastic rifles out there for such a statement to be true, unless you have some $100K hybrid of several rifle types!

Always have at least two. If I'm going for Deer, I have either my Savage 16 stainless in .250 Savage or my Savage 99 in the same calibre as primary, with my M14 as a secondary / fun gun. If it's Moose or Elk, then my Mauser 9.3 x 64mm as primary with the same Savage 16 stainless with a 7mm WSM barrel installed. I often have trouble deciding.

Some buy what they like, others what the read about.

I have owned an A-Bolt, and a BAR, and I have fired a few X-Bolts, but of all of the factory rifles that I have owned or used, the X-Bolt, wouldn't make the top ten, let alone number one. I do however still own six Browning shotguns.

You buy toilet paper by the roll as well Iam sure. .As I have said to you dozens of times before, you read a lot, hunt and shoot not nearly as much as you let on.

Toilet paper would be much more applicable for cleaning up after reading your posts, since they are full of the material that toilet paper is generally used to clean up.

And I think all of us have you figured too...

About 90% of his posts, aren't even remotely related to the thread topic. Most are just personal attacks on other posters.

It is pretty obvious who hunts and shoots more between you and SJ and it is not you GT. You spew and spew garbage and never have any proof to follow up. Bushnell sucks, Marlin is garbage and Browning is the bestest! Yup, we know you and your repetitive nonsense. After 1900 posts of the same crap we should...

Give it a rest GT, your gibberish is getting very old and very predictable.

Iam glad you have things figured out.Iam sure we would all like to hunt, and shoot more, than we talk about it.

Exactly why I average two or three days per week at the range, from spring through fall, shooting rifles, handguns, and trap&skeet. Some of us shoot more in a month, than most people shoot in a year. And by helping a lot of new shooters, or shooters that have firearms issues, or shooting issues, I get to shoot many different firearms as well.
