Bad buy at Ellwood Epps

If you bought a certain gun that they listed and they sent you a different one, then they should refund your money and shipping cost or offer to make it right a different way, i would be ***ed if i payed $400 for something and got something different.

I'd like to believe that they're not purposely scamming people, but I've caught some mistakes there that woulda had me pretty upset if I went ahead and bought it without verifying through a pic request.

It happens but it sucks. At least you didn't get a dodge mini van instead of a new dodge ram 1500 delivered to your address lol. Buddy of mine had it happen recently lol.

Ever hear the phrase: "Never count your chickens till they hatch", well you can be pissed all you want about the mix up, but for buying ammo before the gun arrives.....I just have to shake my head. Almost like spending your lottery winnings before the actual draw date.

I have had fairly good dealings with them. But I think the busier they become, the less time and motivation they have, to worry about good customer service.

Meh....bought a "new" S&W 617 from them years ago. It definitely wasn't "new" like other new S&W's I had bought in the same year! The gun had definitely seen more than few cylinders through it. It also had some "handling" marks on the underlug, cylinder and frame. I ordered from them because of the comments here on CGN. The person I spoke with on the phone swore on a stack of Bibles that it was "as advertised" and "new". They haven't seen any further business from me!
Sounds like a sour deal, OP. Hopefully they sort you out. I have bought a couple guns from them in the past and nothing went wrong with my purchase, but dealing with them on the phone I felt very much like I was shopping at Superstore or something like that, like it's a self-serve type affair and they're doing you a favour with the service ("YOU figure out what you want, YOU fill out the paperwork, YOU send us some money and if everything looks in order, we'll let you buy one of our guns").

It's usually cheaper even after shipping and the local shops are so horrible for stocking anything I happen to need that the wasted gas on trips down there so many times would easily have offset the cost of a few shipping charges.

With the market being the way it is right now, I think it's foolish to fault someone for planning ahead and buying ammo for a gun that they had no reason to expect wasn't going to show up exact as it was advertised. It's not like he went and invested in a case of some really obscure ammo for a specific, hard to find calibre.

If the description on their website said it was a Brigadier and it's not, then they should pay for return shipping and a full refund including the original shipping. They clearly sent you the wrong item and it falls on them to make it right. If one of their employees made the error in the item description, then they should dock that employees pay for the shipping cost.
