It doesnt give a positive click, it is really bugging me. There is no feel to it like my CMT lpk, just mushy, kinda stiff/sticky too, oil helps for a bit. Ive had it a year and its well worked in. I've used different detents too. I think i installed it to spec (how can you NOT install a ar15 safety correctly) .

Test fired and works fine, but for $100 this is pissing me off.

It might be your safety detent spring actually, I know it was for me on my Modern Sporter lower (I slightly trimmed my spring but I also had the option of a ball bearing that they provided with the lower)

Hey thank you, so what length of a spring do I need then to get more pressure for the "click", or are you saying I need less pressure on the detent and cut it down??

You might need less pressure and need to trim it, but I can't say for sure. I'm not sure if there are longer springs available, but I would definitely recommend getting a spare parts kit from True North Arms for around $25 as that will give you extras in case you manage to totally bugger up the one spring.

It could also be your pistol grip and how tight it is against the receiver.

Yup, you were right. The problem is with my Ergo grip, the spring doesn't recess down as far as the mil-spec grip. Snipped 5 coils, going one at time to test. Thats at least 1/4 OAL, nuts. Also my detent had ground down and was greatly deformed.

Are we supposed to lube/ grease the selector groove? After working it all night it got SO gritty and almost seizing. After a drop of lube its perfect, so nice and snappy, but its working its way out on the receiver, Doesn't sound very "Combat"

I don't think I've ever consciously lubed my selector groove, but if its working its way out thats a different story, could be issues with tolerance stacking. The pistol grip thing definitely made my ambi safety go from loose and crap like yours felt in the beginning to snappy and solid once I trimmed the spring to better fit the Magpul K2 grip I was using.

I would honestly try buying some spare small parts from True North Arms, including a cheap safety, and seeing how that works with your receiver.
