Bad experience at epps.........to be continued?????

And now I see that cgn admins made a thread about posting in the dealer area. Kinda feels like we picked on them and they went to the "teacher" and told on us.

That annocement thread was created and posted last year - the upgrade somehow made it disappear and we tried to fix the bug in the last couple days. It has nothing to do with Epps so you should apologize to Epps and CGN admin for making the above statement IMMEDIATELY. Seriously, that annoucement is exactly about this kind of behaviour.

There are lots of day to day things going on here, and we don't have time to make sure all the stars are aligned before we carry out forum background activities, so to make sure that it either looks good or look bad for one particular event.

The owner of the store has talked to the client here involved and wasnt able to talk earlier because he was away on a hunt.
On used guns we as a store offer an uncondiontional 30 day waranty because we can control that. As for new firearms we adhere
to the warranty policies of each manufacturer as per the terms of our contract. We are doing our best to make as many clients as possible happy
but we are only human and therefore fail the odd time but do our best to right any wrongs that may occur. Perfection in our service although
ideal might be an unrealistic expectation but we are hiring if any of the perfect CGN folks would like to hop on board we welcome the help. Sincere thanks from the Epps management.

I understand if the OP bought used and broke the gun, then it would be a warranty issue. But this was an out of the box defect that was not the buyers fault. It was the fault of the quality control department of the manufacturer, made worse by the lack of quality control on your part before shipping the rifle out. That one simple step by you could have avoided all of this negative publicity. It is your business but if I were you, I would exchange the rifle, and deal with the defect problem with the manufacturer yourself. As it should have never reached the client in the first place. I still plan on driving up to check out your store one day, But how this current issue is resolved will determine if we do business.

I agree. A business should stand behind what it sells, the customer shouldnt have to deal with the manufacturer when buying a new gun. The store should replace the firearm and then deal with the manufacturer themselves. I have heard similar stores about Epps doing this to other customers. I wont buy from them.

Tough crowd. The OP sounds like he is sadisfied yet someone who is not involved does not think that solution is good enough! No biggie though, most peoples online posts are only worth thair weight in **** anyways. It would be nice to see a year from now, I bet you half of the "I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM EVER!!!!!!!" posts will have secretly come out of the closet and bought from them. The other half are probally they type who try to dicker on a dented can of soup at Safeway and Epps is better off without them.

Fail

to judge from your lack of the most basic grammar and orthography, you are describing yourself.

Yes what ever he said.....lol

Sorry, but this doesn't cut it!
Any defective merchandise warrants a full monetary refund (from the seller) and not just a store credit, which will allow you to choose from whatever leftovers are in store at the moment.
Epps, your (illegal) policies are a joke, very very sad indeed.
Just be assured, actions like this will always come back to haunt you.

"..."
.

BTW you make "Badger Arms" look like the dealer of the year.

Very sad.

You could say that again... I will never even consider buying anything from epps because of their policies. They don't make any sense to me and they will keep me far far away

As an update, Epps got my rifle back and I used the store credit (plus some additional cash to make up the difference) to order a Winchester 1892 carbine in .45LC. Should be about the same gun, but hopefully better made. Both were 20" Model 1892's.

I don't have the new one yet, but Wes assured me the winchesters are much better made (better QA/QC) than the Chiappas and that I should be happier with it.

It should have never came to this. They should have done the right thing from the start.

i dont go to epps a lot but when i do i have had great service. the gun room is always packed and ive only bought things out of the store but it was still great.

once i went to get a holster, didnt really know what i was looking for, one of the staff showed me a few, told me the pros and cons and actually didnt push the most expensive one on me.

went to get hogue grips for another pistol, they didnt have them in stock and said to go to the gun room, i was in a little rush and when i went to the gun room noticed it was busy, turned around and went to leave (no biggie to me...it was just a stop on the way to the cottage), the sales guy stopped me took me to the offive pulled up the hogue website and showed me my options (i knew which style i was lookng for though) and placed the order.. they were at my house within 3 weeks... quite happy.

went to look at stocks for my 870, the sales guy showed me my options and helped me find everything even though they were about to close... i got what i needed and was quite happy.

ive never bought a gun from them, but i will eventually. every time ive gone there they are busy but if you are patient you get great assistance. the staff at the cash have always seemed happy, but maybe that depends on the customer, if you go in all pissed off do you really expect great service?
my dad was with me when i was buying the holster and he was impressed with what the salesman knew about each different style of holster and the pros and cons of each.

epps, ill see you when i decide on another toy.

imo - better website would be awesome...but i guess if it aint broke dont fix it.

its funny how quick the issues gets solved when it hits cgn : )
CGN is the best problem solver website ive ever seen

Hey that's great news! Good for Wes stepping up and making this right, unfortunate that the situation stirred up a CGN storm - but as another poster pointed out this has improved things for all involved, including Epps. I stand by my word, I'll buy from them now that they've done right.

Warranty issues is another thing entirely, I have realistic assumptions that the store won't hand me a new gun after I've blasted thousands of rounds and have a FTF, stuff happens - and I'm bit unsure if some people are being realistic.

The condition and service at the store, that's another situation, sounds like they're victims of their own success - as the joke goes.

Epps has volunteered to hire new staff and improve the situation, that's impressive, they're certainly listening.

CGN is an incredible resource and members with lots to say really should buy a membership and support the site, I do.

All the best.

I am just waiting for my RPAL to come in the mail. So I am looking for a good store to buy my first handgun. Customer service means alot to me. Canadian Gun Nutz has been a great site to learn about all the firearm dealers that are around. So I will stay away from any place that gives bad customer service. I will buy from the store that has a one year in store warranty and everybody says good things about.

Epps just redesigned their website. I liked the old one a lot better.

ahh i see. i like this site better, just wish they would add pictures, and rather than have the same gun listed 10 times, have it listed once with a a inventory amount on it.

In other news, my replacement Winchester Miroku M92 large-loop carbine just arrived today via canpar and so far it's all kinds of awesome. I still have to cycle some dummy rounds through it to make sure it works right, but it looks beautiful and is incredibly smooth :)

People seem to forget that the Dealer forum is for 'The Dealers'. They pay for it. They use it to advertise and promote their business.

If you want to SH**it on them...; you have to do it elsewhere.
