If you didn't fire it or alter it in any way, I would simply return it for a full refund...don't let them play the "warranty" card.
Pisses me off when retailers pass the buck like that...customer service is becoming a rare thing these days.

Thanks for the input, the gun has not yet been fired, but I am a little reluctant to ask for a refund because the guys there gave me a pretty good deal (WSS price $870, I got it for $700 new)
I am just hoping the rifle gets replaced, I would rather not own a new gun which needed to have the bolt and/or received machined or altered a second time.
