Bad News for AR enthusiasts

Even if guns are banned overnight in Canada,
it has no impact on DlaskCo, as they can live
exclusively from gov. contracts and exports.

The fact that they sell to the Canadian civvie market
is only a long-time ambition of the company owner.
No extra cash to be made by DlaskCo out of this
stupid decisions of the US gov,
as the company's production capacity is the same,
regardless of what (and for whom) they manufacture.

Every gunshop I've visited in Canada is already selling guns in the current correct configurations and has been for months.

I know this slowed us down having even more exotic build configs licensed and built for the AEI rifles. I see Bushmasters and Armalites with the same configuration, and assume they faced similar issues. Export only collectable configs? ;) Watch the price of collapsible stocks rise for about a month.

I hear some Canadian coy may have figured out how to thread a barrel, and quality stocks are still available from a number of free countries. This doesn't change the performance of a rifle.

Just a question. I'm very new to AR's. Does this mean that all new AR's coming into Canada will not be able to be fitted with a collapsible stock? ie. once purchased just remove the fixed stock and install a collapsible one??

You bet, an AR without a bayonet lug is pretty much harmless...

But what is the f**king goal of the US State Department? If they don't want anymore weapons to be exported, they should say so instead of pissing us off a little bit at a time. Can't believe how stupid this all is.

.... I wonder if somehow this pointless piece of US Legislation/bureaucracy can be appended as violation of the NAFTA agreement ? ... David K.

This is not just about AR's. The USA is becoming increasingly paranoid. They are reverting back to 1930's isolationist policies.

The BS you need to go through on export control with Dept. of Commerce and State Dept. is unreal. I have lived through some of the paperwork crap and it is not pleasant. On top of it all, you can never get a straight answer out of these ####ers. They have no clue about their own rules.

Trying to get onto a US military facility if you are not Ammmurriccann takes at least 3 months to get clearances and background checks...everytime.

The Canadians and Europeans just laugh at the USA and they are the butt of a lot of jokes. The reality is that they stop all the legitimate groups from doing business with them rather than expending that energy in fighting the real enemy.

I have been shifting a lot of my business over to Europe and Asia and let US based third parties work the US.

If it wasn't for Disney for my kids and the once in awhile vaction to California, I'd tell them to blow me.

...NO....5.56NATO chambers, 7.62NATO chambers, AR Pistols of all caliber.

So.. Bring on the 6.8 SPC and the 6.5 Grendel :dancingbanana:

I hope prices don't slowly go up over the next few months...if there is a shortage of Rifles and Parts. Just like the Wheat shortage....and Rice shortage:cool:

Lets hope Wolverine is getting their Sabre's from the U.K and not the U.S!!!!

I also noticed Questar removed their LMT price list....and have the old *Get it NOW while you can* message up. I wonder if the prices will be the same...

Let them keep their collapsible stocks, we have the oil! :D

They're going down the ####ter and are too busy chasing their tails to notice it. Their trade deficit (over 900 billion last time I heard) is more than the combined trade surpluses of Russia and China, they're trillions in debt and fighting two on going wars costing billions every month. If anything they should be trying to encourage exports and home grown manufacturing instead of crippling it.

Do they really think preventing collapsible stocks or flash hiders (both cutting edge technology) from leaving the country is going to have any impact on their enemies source for equipment. Mind you they have supplied Iran (F14's), Saudi's (F15's), Afgan's (Stingers), ect. ect. ect., funny those be the same guys giving them all the grief today. Can't beat irony for a good laugh!
