Bad News for AR enthusiasts

FWIW, I was watching CHCH news in Hamilton today, and they mentioned stricter conditions on gun parts from the US going to Canada (or Ontario or whatever)... but they were talking about handguns being smuggled daily right before that.

Not sure if the parts restriction thing was in re to gun parts in general or specifically to handgun parts.

Ya, Whatever.

If you have something to add, then add it.

O.K How about this........
Does Armalite still stamp 5.56 on the side of their M15's??
arm556-1.jpg

If so, eventually when their (Wolverine) current Export license runs out....no more Armalite in Canada. ????

Think about that one.... (unless Armalite switched to stamping .223 on their rifles)

I wonder what this could mean for guys who want to put M4 stocks on their 870's. Or Knoxx specops stocks, for that matter. Could be a major pain in the ass...

Damned US State Department. Now what will I spend my two coffee cans put aside for a 9mm and a .223 pistol on? Those were the last semi's on my "to get list". :(

Time for picking up the 44Magnum, bolts and more levers maybe?

Even if they hold these restrictions (which I'm skeptical about), it's not like they've prohibited anything. 16" barreled ARs are still coming in, so long as they have solid stocks.

I'll start worrying when Canada prohibits import of collapsible stocks and <16" barrels. We live in a Capitalistic society people. If the Americans want to play nanny-socialist state and not sell us stuff, some other country will be more than happy to fill the void. Money's money and nobody's breaking the law bring in AR parts from Asia or Europe.

Asian suppliers

No biggy. Dlask make all of these items apart from the folding stocks. Folding stocks are available from Asian suppliers.

Can you name the Asian suppliers ? I need several ACE folding stocks (varying styles) and receiver blocks as well as the new collapsible mag pul stock and all other asian folding stocks for our guns , shotguns black rifles etc -
-If you are refering to the Pakistani and Afghanistani blacksmith gun counterfeiting industry - disregard - they dont ship -

who makes ARs in europe other then the stiwk sar noosies in da air HK and even then they are moving production to the US it would be better to get a company to make products in canada in say ontario where they're is a viod of manurfactuing jobs thanks to the #### head that got elected as premier

Why look to Europe? Dlask in BC make ARs from the ground up.

Is this going to affect my temporary importation of my AR into and out of the states on an ATF Form 6 for courses? It will have most if not all of those "evil" features.

Ehhh wrong? They not only continue to make the FAL, but the P90, FNC, F2000, MAG, Minimi, Minimi 7.62, M2HB and a crap load of various pistols.

FN has not manufactured a FAL in @ 15 years.

Hi-Powers (and I suspect everything else) were assembled in Portugal starting @1990.

Herstal appears to merely be a design establishment today.

From that weblink:
...the Herstal Group designs, manufactures and distributes a full range of firearms and accessories for defense, law enforcement, hunting and marksmanship.
So, back on track, unless there's some sort of contract prohibiting it, AR parts could come from Belgium. Personally, I think I'd rather have a FN AR than a Colt anyhow.

well said also if we can find a country that will make and import ammo ie .223, 5.56x45mm nato, 308 winchester/7.62x51mm nato, 50 caliber browning machine gun i'd say lets start importing itcause with the US and they constantly constricting controls on sales to they're closest ally i don't see why we shiouldbuy from them

i just hope the ACR/MASADA is ok for export

Just curious - Does anybody know if our military/law enforcement is having problems importing parts like barrels, scopes, ammo, etc. from the U.S. ?
