Bad Norinco ar15

What year or "batch" of norinco's AR15 do you keep away from?...I heard about the thread and hole issues(metric???)

its actually pretty hard to get an old one now, just get a new one from any reputable brick and mortar dealer, or one of the sponsers like SFRC and youll get the new one

the older cq311 series is metric..but I dont see why you would have to keep away from them

I some times read too much on these forms.My intensions are to paint it in some god awful colour,upgrade some guts and shoot the crap out of it........BUT if I want to put a barrel on it or get some spare parts.....will any thing aftermarket fit(with in reason)

yes the paint finish on them is awful.
An after market barrel shouldn't be a problem.
The flash suppressor cannot be replaced because of its metric threading.

About 4-5 years ago there the first batch of M4's had a terrible finish on them. No one has had them in stock in years. Any news ones you see on the market are pretty good. The 10.5" ones had a heavy ejector spring which takes a while to break in but I've never had a problem with a 14.5" one out of the with the exception of one. That one was a 30 second fix due to a burr on something.
