I'm pretty keen on these bad boys. I have a few requirements for custom actions and the badger m2013/2008 seems to fit them the best.

I emailed wolverine since they are listed as an importer of Badger Ordnance stuff. They said they wanted a minimum of 5 actions for them to import them.

Is anyone else interested in these things?

Features are as follows:
Bolt lift: 60º. 6 lugs in a 3 lug pattern.
Bolt Dia: .78"
4143 steel receiver
Bolt hole honed to 16 RMS
Modified M16 style extractor
Breeching ring is made from precipitation hardend corrosion resistant steel
Bolt locks into the receiver using a breeching ring, which is trapped between the barrel and the receiver.
Full length Aluminum M 1913 Mil Spec. 20 MOA Rail. 4 #8-40 screws and 2 recoil pins
Firing pin disassembles from bolt without tools
Barrel Thread: 1 1/16" x 16 3A, 1.37" long
Trigger: Can use any Remington M700 style trigger
Triggerguard: Uses any Remington M700 detachable box magazine system

The SAs are 1,269.95 usd and up to $1,429.95 usd for the 338 laps.

Since very few companies are interested in entering the 21st century with short throws, these seem pretty good to me. I guess if GA precision make their tempests in a long action that would have all the neatness in one location too.
 
This is the problem with our so-called "distributors" here in Canada. Most want your money in hand first before purchasing product they should already have on hand. Its Bull$hit to put the onus on the consumer to fill a minimum quantity before an order will be even be placed.
I went through this with Wolverine a couple years ago when inquiring about an M2008 SA. Same story then...
Sad part is I'm sure they sit there and wonder why is no market here in Canada for this product. Maybe if they would order 5 actions with their own capital and actually have stock on hand they may even sell a few...:mad:

Yep, inquired about one of these last year. If this was a stocked item or at least willing to bring them in one at a time with their regular Badger Ordnance orders, I would have bought one or possibly two of these actions.
 
Not sure about the improvement part but this gets you close to an AI since they do not sell just the actions.
Its too bad they did not copy the Win70 3 position safety that the AI has and went with that remmy safety ( probably a compromise so it would work with commonly available rem style triggers and parts). Can it take AI double stack mags or just 700 style single stack?
 
I'd be interested in a SA if the wait time is reasonable. Don't really want to wait a year for one. How much does is weight? Do they come stainless? I'd be using it for a reasonable weight 260REM.

They're pigs. Would go a different route if weight is a priority.

They take the AW mags.
 
Realise , that what I say is based on experience of using , & owning , both M2008 short actions using the AW mag , and the long version using the AWSM mags in 300WM , they are not improvements on the AI action .
I use both , BUT I only really use the AIs now , I feel that IF you build using top grade compotents , the cost of a Badger built clone of a AI rifle , ends you being very close to the cost of buying a REAL AI rifle .
Badgers are good , BUT not as good as a AI .
AI is better , and is the real deal its that simple , and I know thats NOT what you wanted to hear .
People , just list the bits needed to assemble the rifle , and leave out the cost of smithing and painting etc , also they forget its actually a mix and match , and not a rifle designed as a complete rifle & made by one company .

My draw to the action is the ability to get different calibers.

Seriously ??

If " our so-called "distributors" here in Canada " tried to accommodate what you are describing and have every possible product out there with minimum orders it would be into the millions of dollars and some of it would never sell.
Most gun stuff isn't cheap, look at 5 of these actions - minimum order would be over $5000 and that's only one product.
How can you realistically expect retailers spend those kind of dollars in the hopes it might sell??
