Badger Ordnance action

I don't shoot benchrest, but I am sure it accurate enough to turn in to benchrest, the price is very attractive, considering it a AI clone, price will be less than AI for sure, Hopefully less than haft the cost of AI in Complete gun...

Multilug bolts have always raised a red flag for me, but they do have advantages; such as a slimmer profile, less rotation, and they do tend to be slick. I suppose modern CNC machining has to a large degree resolved the issues that once plagued these things so perhaps their time has come.

it still pretty early at the moment to know how good the quality of the action they have produce, there prototype look pretty and function, let hope that they could keep up the quality with production run.

I don't think that CNC is the silver bullet we'd all like it to be. For example, why has Ruger been plagued with difficulties in bringing it's Gold Label SxS to market? They said themselves that there was much more final fitting involved in making a SxS than they had anticipated. Apparently you can't just strip down a Purdey and put it in the CNC machine (one of those "learning mills" or whatever the actual name for them is) and have it replicated. Hence why CNC hasn't given us affordable double shotguns and rifles - still outside their realm of ability to perfectly replicate a hand-fit gun.

Apparently a best SxS won't close if you put a cigarette paper on top of the water table and try to close the barrels. Now THAT is tight tolerances!

You make a good point BUM, and any lapping required for multiple lugs would be a nightmare. The intricacies of getting double guns just right proves that it was an art of masters rather than tradesmen.

Is Badger marketing as a BR action or a built like SH!T Brickhouse workhorse?

My guess is the later given how massively overbuilt it is - sure looks tough too.

I am sure that there will good and bad just like any multilug action. It's intended audience will not mind.

I am sure there will be a few bug to grind out, one thing for sure is that it look very attractive, and different, almost every action I see, it seem to have too much round in them.

I'll be the first to say that I don't like the outward appearence of it. Some auto makers built vehicles like this action has been built, and some people buy them just because they're different, like the #####. I think some attention to overall design helps make an action look streamlined but still have lines where it's needed.

As for accuracy and fit and finish, I'm sure Badger is capable of making an action that works. Their scope rings are sure a pleasure to work with.

I don't believe that there is many gunsmith will appreciated, not just the look, but square of it, it will be more difficult to work on, unlike reminton700 action style, easy to manipulated on the lathe!, as for tolerance, I am sure you could blue print a rem700action for benchrest.

I'm glad these companies are venturing out and building their own idea but it's hard to argue with what works. Interchangeability with parts is something that even auto manufacturers are working towards so to be able to bolt a Remington rail on a Weatherby is too their advantage.

Now whether or not we will see any in this country is a good question.
According to the US DoS person I was talking to today regarding some other Badger product I have a now denied export permit for, Badger is NOT DDTC registered at this point in time. Hopefully this will change soon, but I am not going to hold my breath.

This is how the excited States of America further strangles their own companies in the name of Homeland In-security!!! What a bunch of bullsh!t.

Even if that true about not being exported North of the border, other will fill the gap, guy like Accuracy international, PGW, even Patriot arm will , I seen several of his rifle up close, and they are very impress, and I know the guy doesn't have big mouth piece at all, very humble and good at what he does, and he does it, not just talking.

Last I saw Accuracy Int, does NOT sell actions. Yes there are some of us in Canada that have taken the initiative to build actions here in Canada like myself , PGW, and a few others.
I know not if Patriot is building his own actions or not, but like Badger, until ANY U.S. based company is in compliance with DDTC registration, their products can not legally be exported to Canada, as the State Dept will NOT approve an export permit. This may not affect you, but to most of us in Canada IT DOES.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I expect Badger will get registration done, Marty may well have his application in the works, all I know is that the Badger product I tried to have LEGALLY exported to Canada could not at this time be shipped, due to no DDTC number.

Do I detect from your post some trolling??

Ofcourse Accuracy don't sell action, what I mean to say is that, if they don't sell it to us ,other will fill the gap, not just action, but rifles(complete package), and ofcourse it effect myself, If I wanted one and can't get a hold of one, I will buy other maker, like AI, PGW, that what I mean to say, Complete gun. all I hope is that it will come up north...

Now that is kinda sick talk, "got a hard on" you talk like you got out of basic training, and this thread isn't belong or start by Rick of the ATR, you don't have to get upset or frustrated, just because someone din't believe what you got to say. and yes Accuracy, PGW, Remington did build an action and so is Savage, but you: Ok maybe you did, it just that I din't see it yet, and give it time, I will see it and believe it, mean while there is other action out there. and yet, I did saw your 50cal action, I believe is a single shot right, there you go, I believe you!, there I try to type slowly so you can Understand what I am trying to get across.
