I've been in the market for a vintage wall tent for years and today did my usual daily Internet search and lo and behold on Facebook marketplace saw a Pioneer 10x12 canvas wall tent posted for $75 obo.

I responded and found out it was at a movie prop place in Burnaby that closed at 4:30 and it was 3:45.

Zoomed out there as best I could in the beginnings of rush hour traffic, road work and detours and arrived at 4:20.

Nice props manager brought it out and it was a classic old ex BCFS light canvas wall tent with one small rip. Fabric was intact, not mildewed or rotten. No poles. I know how to collect tent poles.

I offered $60.00 and walked out the door with my new old tent.

I'd seen these years ago sold at outdoor supplier Neville Crosby and kicked myself for not getting one.

Pretty tickled.

I just have to buy a stovepipe jack and pick a spot and sew it in.

I spent $2000 with frame and stove for my 12x16 and I feel I got a bargain. Right time, right place. There's no replacing luck.

Fortunately I am retired with time on my hands and also have a Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace browsing habit. That's how the luck happened; I look at bass playing stuff and for wall tent ads every day. Just lucky the movie industry just wanted rid of this thing in their warehouse full and I mean full of stuff.

I've only bought one item in the last year, a speaker cab for bass and returned it because one speaker of the two didn't work. lol

I already have a lightweight Egyptian cotton 9x12 tent a friend sold me for $200 and was looking for one for my hunting buddy, but this one I got yesterday is more heavy duty so I'm going to have to keep it and put that stove jack in the wall.

I am miffed that my friends see all the working freezers sitting at the curb for free in the lower main land.
In Horsefly or Williams Lake it would be $200.
Enjoy your new tent.

well $60 is a good deal

But I got one for free, Old AFS canvas tent 12'x14' no poles and had a warehouse tag on it dated 1967 :) people were cleaning out their shed and I was helping haul their 'garbage' to the dump.

needed a little patch but its in fair condition,

I've used it a few times, cut poles for it once or twice and now I have a metal frame for it.

stove I built out of 2 20Lb propane tanks

Now that is a DEAL! 12x14 is really a lot nicer than 10x12 too for space. What a difference a few square feet make.

perfect size for 2 guys and a stove with a little area for a table and some storage.

stove is up front next to the door and stack goes up through the roof, but there are patches where they moved the stove collar from the front flap to the roof.
