i have a baikal izh-18 in 3006 the setup it has is an adapter to go from 11mm rail to weaver rail then my rings mount to the weaver rail, problem i have is, is it possible that after about 15 shots the mounts move even though i put lock tight and made sure thay were tight.

You are going to have slippage as there is no scope block cut in there mount like BRNO's have, you are going to have to D&T the mount you disire to there ramped mount? I don't understand why Baikal did not make or offer a mount for there combo's or singleshot rifles, makes absolutley no sence? Dale Z!

Baikal puts the same dovetails on their side-by-side double rifle, and I had good luck using a one piece scope mount designed for airguns. There are a few of these on the market, most are about 4 or 5 inches long and clamp very securely with several large bolts. Depending on the length of your dovetails, you may be able to position the front of the mount hard up against the front of the dovetail and prevent any possible forward creeping. The SxS was a .30-06 and I had no movement of the mount or scope. This is much less expensive than paying for a drill and tap job.
