Baikal O/U double firing

I have a Baikal o/u that i got recently but after firing 50 shells though it it has double fired on me half a dozen times.

what I mean by this is that sometimes, i pull the single selective trigger once and both shells go off, not at the same time, but back to back.

Could this be in the way I am pulling the trigger? do I need to pull it harder or hold it after each shot? The thing really kicks me when it does this.
 
my .410 baikal o\u fires both shots off at once sometimes when I pull the trigger. Sometimes it only fires one shell. I can't figure it out either, I tried pulling the trigger lighter and it doesnt matter, still fires both shells at once. (its pretty deadly on crows though lol)
 
NOthing that you're doing wrong - there is a problem with the trigger mechanism in your gun. I had a stoeger that did this once in 50 shots or so. I talked to a gunsmith about it and he said it was adjustable, but that it was finicky on less expensive guns, so it could be hard to KNOW that it's fixed because it happened only rarely. In the end I just sold it "as is" to someone who was OK with that.

The main reason why double barreled shotguns (with single trigger) double-fire are:

1. Need trigger group adjustment.
2. Dirt inside.
3. Operator error (the recoil of the first shot having the finger make the second shot).
 
I have had the same problemwith my Baikal.
Solution ;be sure to open the gun ALL the way after firing(as far as it will go) and had no problems since.
