Baikal O/U shotgun break lever "stuck"

Hey,

I'm having an annoying issue with my shotgun. The lever to break open the shotgun does not come back after closing. I have to manually push it into place to lock the barrels and it's pretty stiff.

Everything was working well and all of a sudden it started doing this. I field-stripped the shotgun but I can't see what's wrong with it.

Should I bring it to a gunsmith?
Is there anything I can try before doing so?

Sounds like a broken spring.

Take it apart and check the spring.
I had the same problem with other Russian gun and was able to make the spring myself from music wire.
