So I was out again today to another spot, that one of the bowhunters suggested to me. I got up in the stand, and was able to see over his fence he built to encourage the deer to come in broadside, and I noticed that he had a smashed pumpkin and a salt lick there.
I was unsure if this is considered baiting (since I was not the one to put it there) and if it was or was not legal for a rifle hunter to bait in the first place. For safety's sake I left and went to another stand.
Am I ok to rifle hunt a stand that is baited or should I remove the salt lick and pumpkin pieces the next time I walk through to be able to hunt that stand?
Just looked through the 2011 hunting summary, to no avail. And my hunting course was more then a decade ago, don't flame me to bad.
