Balance scale magnetic vs oil damping

I'm using a really old Redding fulcrum & pivot oil damping scale. It's still as accurate as the day is long. How would it stack up against a magnetic damping scale? I'm not to the point of going with an electronic scale yet.

Comments, suggestions, pros/cons and or humour welcome.

I had to look up oil damped powder scale to see one. interesting concept, and can be fine tuned with different viscosity oil to suit one's personal preference. I think they may have become extinct because they are a bit more difficult to set up. magnetic damping may not be a more accurate system, but it is more user friendly. I have only used the magnetic damped type, so I can't say which one is quicker to settle the beam.

Probably not going to make a large difference unless you step up to minimally the gempro 250, or the and fx120i for faster/better.

I have used an oil damping scale years ago when I first learned to reload, wouldn't want to screw around with one again. The old fellow that owned it told me of a time he was getting really wild readings and when he checked a fly had landed in the oil pot. I use an old Ohaus scale and will never sell it, just use it less now I have a RCBS chargemaster.
