Balkan Ax-Pistol

[Skinny 1950]

Came across this picture on an Antique Firearms web site. It is described as a Balkan Ax-Pistol, 18th Century believed to be a reproduction.
I have seen antique pistols with knives that spring out the front, but never anything like this. Has anyone seen a pistol like this or is it unique???

The scandinavians went through a period of making them with the axe on the other end for boarding guns. Don't seem to have been super popular.... but you find examples all through history.

Hey! I thought that axe gun pic was somebody's photchopped artist's rendition...looks like real ones actually existed.
