A friend is asking for ball park prices for 2 shot guns that he wants to sell. Please help out with your best guestimate with the only info available. Thank you in advance.

>model 1912 Winchester 20 gauge pump
It has a steel nickel barrel. Very nice condition.

>Mossberg bolt action with a 3 shot clip very nice condition.

EDIT additional info:

>the mossberg is 2 3/4 –3 in. mod #325k adjustable choke,

20 gauge. No visible serial number.

>the winchester mod 1912 is 2 3/4 chamber serial #1374.

I saw someone in the EE asking $750 for a very good condition 20 gauge model 12 a few months back. I have no ideal what he got for it or if it even sold and the price seamed a little high to me.

I sold one of those mossberg bolt action 20 gauge shotguns for $100 recently. There isn't much of a market for bolt action shotguns.

Detailed pictures and a post in the shotgun subforum will get you a better answer than my wag.

The model 12 depending on condition will be $250 600 $ as for EE pricing and blue book and guns America pricing those prices are erelvent . Condition is everything to be worth $600 the gun has to look like new if it does not then it is not worth that price . Does it have any alterations that will devalue it a little does it have pitting that will devalue it .

These are basic guns with basic values nothing special about either one he only asked for a ball park price not a bunch of smart ass responses

There is a fair bit of that on CGN lately.
The model 12 is worth more than $200 unless it is totally beat. Check the serial number on Proofhouse.com. Nickel steel marked barrels were made until 1931. The model 12 was introduced in 20 gauge only with a 2 1/2 inch chamber. In 1926 the chamber was changed to the modern 2 3/4 inch length. Depending on condition I would guess $350 to $800 for a value with a post 1926 gun worth more.
The bolt gun is worth $75-$100 unless it is a .410 then maybe $200 tops. My 2 cents.

We don't know that at all. You don't either. So they get the smart-ass reply.

It's like saying I have a 1967 Chevy, V8, what's it worth?

A nice 20ga pump is worth 200-250 in most brands, more in a mod 12. I have sold many 12ga. In the last couple of years. They sold for 200-300$ . I think the model 12 20 is likely to bring a fair 300. JMHO

I'm with a j cave on the value of the 20 ga. model 12, assuming of course that it's 2 3/4" chambered and not 2 1/2". In reasonably good shape, it wouldn't last for more than a few minutes if offered at $200.

Very true. If in nice original condition I'd bet in 20 gauge it would be an easy sell at $350.00. Of course if in rough condition then it would be a lot less.
