I have been doing a lot of research on gun oils lately. I have been using hoppes 9 for wiping down and g 96 spray for the mechanism. Seems to be working okay although the oldest firearm I have is fifteen years old. Pump remington 870.
Now when I read the warnings on both the oils I use they say no skin contact and never use in confined space( inhaling fumes ). It seems to be pretty bad ( toxic and cancer causing YIKES ) for you and not sure if it's good for wood.
Did research on the net ballistol keeps coming up suppose to be wonderful stuff and very safe. Good for wood steel leather and most important safe. Suppose to have some kind of.medical.grade mineral oil its made in Germany.
I live in southern Ontario and this is not one gun store I found that carries it. Ordered some on line but it was expensive shipping charges.
Does anyone have expreince with ballistol and if they know a.store in ontario that carries it.n
