Given how it smells and how when fresh from the bottle it makes me want to cough a bit I can't imagine swallowing any of it. It may not kill me but I think if it tastes like it smells I'd be wishing that it would.... :d

I shoot a fair amount of black powder. And Ballistol is one of the very few gun oils out there which is "black powder friendly". A lot of other petroleum based oils will tend to turn black powder fouling into a sticky mess. So I'm running through my two cans of it reasonably fast.

Mixed about 8:1 with water it is also what I use for a patch lube on my front stuffers. It keeps the patch and ball ramming home consistently easy for a whole day of shooting.

Well BC RIDER, you have an odd friend who drinks things that smell considerably worse than Ballistol and he pays top dollar for some of that Scottish swill.....

DON'T YOU BE CONFUSING THE NECTAR OF ANGELS WITH GUN OIL ! ! ! ! ! .... dang heathen....

I've been wanting to try it as an ingredient in homemade blackpowder bullet lube. The idea of a water soluable cleaner mixed in with the lube makes a sort of primitive sense.

It's VERY runny. Pretty much the consistency of the thinner mineral oil you find in the pharmacy. It would not take much to make the beeswax soft.

The recipe I want to try is Bees-wax, safflower oil and Ballistol in a 4-3-1 part ratio. In a general sort of way every recipe seems to be 1/2 beeswax and 1/2 a combination of anything that will melt and mix with beeswax. :)
