Ballistol

ballistol.ca is only mail order, so I think they have the shipping sorted out. BTW ballistol is oil, not really dangerous. You can infact drink it. It is classed as a medicine in Germany.

It is a Gun oil that can be used as a veterinary antiseptic, originally designed for people but not approved for that use in North America. Only problems might be are shipping a liquid or an aerosol container if that is the style of container you get. Do a search of " BALLISTOL in Canada" AND YOU WILL FIND AT LEAST ONE CANADIAN SOURCE.

Go to this website and order it over the phone. They give you a 1-800 number so its no charge. When I phoned, the guy at the other end of the line was very cool and was able to help me. The ballistol arrived in the mail within a few days.

Ballistol is a wonderful product, probably the best cleaner/lubricant that I have ever had. It was developed by our friends in Germany about 1904 or so for use by the Imperial German Army.

I swear by it.

The only downside is the smell. Be prepared to wash your hands a lot for the next day or two. Its still worth it.

If you have any trouble with the website, pm me.

Should have added that you can't import this from the U.S. because of the "hazardous" materials b.s. but you can order it from this Ontario firm because it is already in the country.

It is the BEST case resizing lubricant I have ever used. none of that gooey residue like with the purpose made case lubes.

Good for hosing out the barrels and chamber after cleaning, great pistol cleaner too.

I buy it by the case.

What's its use? Cleaner? Preservative? Laxitive?

All of the above. It is primarily mineral oil and also contains oleic acid (a natural fatty acid, olive oil is about 3/4 oleic acid) and alcohols.

Yep, should make a great laxative.

However for my guns, I prefer a modern synthetic lubricant and rust preventative. ;)
