Please help me out here guys...

I have an Enfield LE#1Mk3* that a friend wants to buy, but neither of us have a good idea of its value. We both want a fair deal, so a general estimate of the gun's value would be helpful.

The rifle was sold to me years ago...the dealer told me it was one of a batch of guns given/sold to the Greek army by the Brits to use as drill rifles. Dunno if that's true, but its condition is consistent with that story.

Bluing on the metal has a little wear on the high spots but is mostly there...no rust at all. Bore is bright and rifling is sharp. The muzzle cap s/n matches the receiver s/n.

The brass buttplate was dinged and rough when I got it, I since polished it smooth, although it still doesn't look new. The receiver is marked with the Enfield cartouche, and reads Enfield 1917 SmLE III*. All parts are present and correct...the wood stock has a few dings but is basically sound and in good condition. Oh yeah...the middle barrel band is hinged [or maybe the bendy one is purely a #4LE thing...?].

I think that's all the significant info I can give you. I'm not looking for an exact valuation, but an upper and lower figure would be nice. I plan to throw in an old f'ed up sword bayonet and web sling with the rifle...

Thanks!

assuming from your description its not a sporter low end 325 high end 550 for a regular no1mk3

Yes! Not a sporter at all...it's in full military fig.

Here's a pic identical to the receiver marking...mine says 1917, not 1918...
