Bang-Flop.......with a bow!

Good for you Wrong Way...you will never forget your first deer with a bow!

It's all over save the BBQing...locate your minced garlic and onion for those tasty backstraps....MMMmmm MMM Good!

Thanks Brutus...but it was actually my 33rd deer with a bow.....just the first time a deer has bang-flopped! They have always run before...some 20 yards, some 100 yards, but this is the first one that didn't even take a step :D

As far as our resident "expert" goes~ Range trophies equal a great big sack of steaming SFA when it comes to actual hunting....not even remotely close to the same thing....I figured a "pro" would know that
You remind me of "that guy" at the range....you know.....the "expert" who spends the whole day making 1/2" groups off the bench with his ultra-high dollar rig and telling everyone else what they are doing wrong and generally ####ting on everyone to stoke his own ego? Well, THAT'S the guy that can't make a 50 yard offhand shot on a deer (and generally knows it...thats why he sticks to shooting 1/2" groups off the bench and telling others what they are doing wrong....instead of actually hunting.) Sorry dude...but YOU'RE that guy! :D

Wow Wrong Way, thats 32 more deer than I have taken with a bow!
You could teach me a few things about field archery and archery hunting for sure. And yes I have been accompanied ( once ) a so called archery "expert" who brought an indoor target peep sight, on his bow, with a string release while ground stalking game.
And no quiver....
My lesson learned, keep the target junk at home, for paper targets only, NOT for live game!

You can guess the outcome, it was not good!

Buddy I've spent enough time in the bush with abow in my hand to know that there's lots of opportunites to take game in brush-free shooting lanes, so when you do lose one because you made a bad call, DON'T post the story, and I won't have to say 'I told you so'
300 arrows a week  You must be a master!! I only shoot 300 a day :runaway: WOW!

I'm guessing you were shooting instinctive. Don't really need sights when your head is that far up your a$$.
I have a closet full of archery medals too. One of them being a provincial champ. And yet, I have made plenty of bad shots hunting. My favorite one was last day of my available season.(don't remember what year)
Was lookng for a dry doe to fill the freezer. Found one about 60 yards away, broadside, wide open. 60 yards happens to be my limit to shoot. So I shot at her. The arrow went 1/8" over her back. Suddenly two deer ran up the hill. She had a fawn hiding behind her. Well 30 yards of running, the fawn comes rolling back down. I went and checked it out, and found a 1" cut on his neck.
Apparently I opened up his jugular, and bled him out right there.
Best bad shot I ever made.

He was yummy.
