banner 2.5x20 ok for 22?

I just put a nice old banner 2.5x on my dads old cooey 60 thinking it would be an upgrade over the ancient 3/4" weaver that was on there. My gunsmith said I could run into a parallax issue, he figgured that scope would be set for rifle distances and I want to zero this at 15 yds for ditch chickens.
I look thru the scope at short range and move my eye side to side and the cross hairs only appear to move very slightly. should I worry? I guess the proof will be when I sight it in and see if she will group inside 3/4".

I've got a fixed 4 banner on one of my 10-22, also used for ditch chickens. With the right ammo it will put 10 rounds into a quarter sized hole at 25 yds,
Minute of grouse- no problem!!!

Mount it and give it a try, you've nothing to loose!

I have that same scope mounted on a little anschutz .22, shoots very accurately at close AND far ranges. 10-100 yds.

I use a Banner 1.5-4.5X20 on mine. It works great, not enough parralax at close range to miss a grouse head.
