Hey I had the the 12 tall GI Joe as a pre teen kid...still have the Talking Gi Joe Astronaut in the original box with the paperwork and uniform...now worth nearly $350. That one I would never let the cousins play with. The current action figures are generally accurate depictions of soldiers etc...the attention to detail is astounding. It is similar to the Corgi die cast aircraft and tanks...incredible stuff. The barbie and ken stuff is for little girls and effeminate queer boys...nuff said about this!!!
Personally I would not collect action figures, rather I collect the original uniforms etc...none of the nazi or jap stuff though!!!!
