Barel screws

Hey gang if I remove the open sights on my rifle and insert the barrel screws do I have to do anything else like coat them or something? Just want to make sure this is the first time I have removed them

A little 'removable' loctite will lock them in but, in reality, if they're snug they won't go anywhere. Just to clear this up.........are you going to remove the sights and then re-install the same mounting screws? This might look a bit strange..........let me know what kind of screws they are (6/48 or 8/40) and I'll shoot you some 'filler' screws that sit flush with the surface and will look a tad better
