SIR has the Stevens 200 rifle on sale for $232! :runaway:

Tried to order one, but they are only available in the store. The fellow I was speaking with said they are available in 300 Win Mag and 7mm RM, and they still have plenty in stock.

That is a steal of a deal for all you MB and NW Ontario boys!

So I phone SIR before going down. Anything other than the 7mm and 300 mag for the $232 price? I was told it was all Stevens 200 in store stock. He even listed all the cartridges available. So I go down and the sale price is only on the 300 Win and 7mm Mag. Big signs on the wall. Idiot sales staff I talked to couldn't read.

Those idiots at SIR can't see the forest through the trees! I spoke to the manager who informed me that they are not concerned over loosing mailorder or phone sales due to their ignorant "in-store ONLY" policy. Well they haven't just lost a sale...they lost a customer and I'll be sure to spread my dis-satisfaction around regarding SIR and their "policies". Talk about tunnel vision. This is why I try not to shop these mailorder stores and stick to shops like Bashaw and Accuracy Plus who care to retain customers. Why should some smuck who walks in the door and takes an hour with a sales person to purchase a rifle get a deal thats $60 bucks less than what I'd get by simply submitting my order and take up ...what...5 minutes of staffs time. They need to give their heads a shake!

I totally agree. They probably would have cleared them all out already if this offer was available online as well. I know I would have picked up another one in 300 win mag. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to continue to order from them since my local store wants 399 for the Stevens.:(

Well I too would like to take advantage of that sale, but I am sure that the sale price is down around their cost and they want to take advantage of the walk in customer who they can possibly "up-sell". For example, charge full mark-up on bases, rings and scopes, etc. I am willing to bet there is a "charge" to install the scope and bore-sight it.

What we should try to do is find some Winnipeg CGN'ers to take our money (EMT) and go in and clean them out. Rifles only, nothing else.

Any takers?

Their regular price of $299.00 is still about 70 bucks cheaper than Le Baron's, and LeBaron's doesn't even have any in stock! I might just mail order me one in .300 Mag, unless all of you guys haven't beat me to it! :50cal:

It's in store only because it's a loss leader. They want you to come in and buy a rifle, ammo, scope etc. For $232m they can't be making alot of money.

If someone wants one, just have a local gunnut go and buy it for him. I am sure that there is someone nearby that woudln't mind doing it.

I am just 5min from the store;) Wonder how many transfers to different individuals you can do before your considered a dealer:eek: I could help out a fellow CGN but you have to cover the cost and shipping(EMT?). PM if you need the price savings of a walk in deal.

Dont' you know anything about profit and capitalism? - buy them, sell them, make profit. There are no restrictions, no you won't be an arms dealer, just a dude trying to make a buck. ;)

This was just to help out a fellow CGN'r. But you can treat me to a box of 9mm or .223 for the effort:p:D I dont even have the $$$ to get one for myself:(

The guy I dealt with (Gerry) didn't try to sell me anything extra, I had to go out of my way to ask to buy ammo. I wish he had tried to sell me a scope, I have to go back now anyway and get one. First time buying a gun, I didn't notice it doesn't have sights on it until I got home.
