Bargain of the week! Stevens 200 rifle for $232.

Well, this was the most entertaining thread I have read in a long time. SIR probably had to keep it in house to prevent WSS and Russels from doing phone orders to replace their depleted stock. Life sucks! I feel for the poor and needy who could not afford the regular 299.00 price. Life is just not fair! Boo Hoo!

$67 is going to make or break your year? You probably can't afford it at any price, then.:)

Yup, all over $67:runaway:

Wow!! $500 in 5 years! :runaway:

That woudl be a whole $3000 over THIRTY YEARS!!:runaway:

Gatehouse you have obviously never worked a day of retail in your life and if you had (or do) I certainly wouldn't want you on my team:cool:. I'd like you as a cutomer though - I could mark sh!t up 20% and give you crappy service since you don't care about stuff like that....

I work in an industry where customers complain daily over as little as $0.25 cents. Yes customers can and will walk to the competition over $67.00. I've lost customers over a lot less than that! You're too focused on the money - it's not the $67 bucks. It's the fact that the deal was not offered to everyone (at least those mail order customers who complained). In my work business is built on customer service in an indusrty where price is king. It's a simple fact: you take care of your customers and you'll have them for life. SIR screwed up by not giving a customer of 30 years a deal...shame on them.

Also, ask any retailer on this board if they would want a customer who spent $100 in their store every year for five years...or 30!!! I spend much more at my local gun shops every year because they are more convenient than SIR, but if they pissed me off...well I'd drive down the road and go to the next one.

What you fail to realize is that volume is king. Get 100 customers that spend $100 per year or more and you have something...but piss them off...well you've got nothing.....

Sure, I've worked retail, but I wouldn't want to be on your "team" anyway.

Oh sure it is. It's what the whiners are complaining about. $67 and that life is not fair.:jerkit:

And the bottom line is still the same- Some People on CGN were whining like a bunch of pussies, crying foul, protesting their outrage loudly over not having the opportunity to mail order a loss leader, when if they really wanted one, they could have got it, plain and simple.

Instead, they whined, yelled that they will never do business with SIR again, blah blah blah...

What is the goal? A good deal on a gun? Or to whine like a spoiled child over $67?

Judging from this thread, the goal was to whine about a horrible $67 injustice. Gimme a break.....

Hey, your entitled to you opinion. And is it petty to whine about $67? Well that's debateable. But reality is reality, and they have lost customers over this....not worth it IMO. I'm looking at this from the perspective of a retailer, and if you care about your customers this situation stinks.

But reality is reality, and they have lost customers over this.

Here is reality:

Sounds like they lost half a dozen customers, all on CGN. I bet most customers don't know/don't care.

Sounds like they made some walk in customers happy

SIR isn't going to close thier doors over this.

ANYONE that posted on this thread about this COULD have got a good deal on a rifle IF THEY WANTED TO.

:bangHead::bangHead::bangHead:

This is a customer service issue not an issue of weather or not customers are #####ing too much!

Customers will ##### about anything, it's as sure thing -like death and taxes!

Sure anyone that #####ed on this thread before the 31st could have got the deal, but not because of SIR's great customer service!!! It was through the kindheartedness of CGN members!

It's obvious to me that SIR is really not all that concerned about their customers by the way they chose to handle the complaints about this.

Quit wining and enjoy the pics..... SIR lost 5 customers... who cares... They gained a 100 new local ones....

Customer service issue? Hardly. It's a few guys that were sad they didn't live in Winnipeg to save $67 issue.

the net result woudl have been the same. If $67 is soooooooo important to someone that they absolutely MUST have the deal, then find a way to do it. IN the time it took to whine on CGN, they coudl have arranged for a purchase. Might have met a new friend, too....

Actually, this reminds me of a deal COSTCO had on generators. I dont' live anywhere near a Costco, but wanted one of the generators, and since popcan was going to get one as well, he picked one up for me, and I picked it up at a later date from his garage.

I suppose I coudl have just sat and whined and moaned that there wasn't a Costco next door.:p

Yeah, they must not give a #### about thier customers when they basically are giving away rifles at thier cost, to anyone that walks in the door.:jerkit:

So many these days lose sight of the goal, and focus on how things "should be" in a "perfect world." Get over it. Lifes not fair. If you want something, find a way to go get it.

I can't believe how many people cant get their head around this.

Its a Lost Leader.

Why in the f**k would anyone send something in the mail that they are all ready loosing money on to walk ins.

No one ever heard of Boxing day sales? Gate crasher sales  5 cent chicken wings but not for take out

Unbe####ingleeevable. :jerkit:

But it create perhaps one of the silliest threads going here, so that's all good :adult:
