Hey all I see Hirsch is getting the Barnard Line soon. Does anyone have any experiance with these? New to long range and still using factory built rifles for shooting. But looking at their site they look promising. Just want to know some opinions thats all. Half thinking of starting my first build with Barnard.

You couldn't have chosen a better action to start with if you tried.

I am familiar with the P models and they are awesome. I have had 0 experience with the S model but have heard nothing but good things about them.

Good luck on your build.

A top notch place to start. The current FCWC F/Tr champ got there driving Barnard S based rig. Contemplating an F/Tr build on an S myself. Can't go wrong dealing with Hirsch either.

unless you buy my RPA in 6br then buy a S or P action, nice stuff, I like the S so that you can use a GC trigger rather than the Barnard (it is OK as well), it is what ever you get used to,

and I beg to disagree with your thoughts on Hirsch, THEY AND HE ARE A MENACE, THEY MAKE YOU ENJOY YOUR HOBBY, SPEND MONEY TO ENJOY YOUR HOBBY EVEN MORE,

WHAT A CONCEPT, he has stuff in stock, first class stuff, and even has dealer network that WORKS, my my, he is not on my Christmas wish list I will tell you (ha ha) : " )

I think the trigger on the P action is top notch. breaks like glass but only goes to 8oz I believe.

I like mine around 2-3oz but - could give up the extra pull weight for one of those.

I certianly hope this is true, last time I spoke to Peter he told me about the 'Borden' actions he was going to carry. Barnards would be a great addition

roberti11 and all, Malcolm at Barnard advised that our first Barnard action and accessory order is ready for shipment. Should be here next week. Also have arranged to import an advanced stock design from "overseas" specifically for the P and S actions.

Regards,

Peter

There is not a better made, more precise action made anywhere in the world at any price. That's just my opinion and I know it is correct!

and what action or machined components have you made in your life to put substance to your opinion. They are pretty darn close to the look of a Savage... and shoot almost as well.

Nice first post, maybe you should read through the forum a bit more.

Barnard

Look up European F-Class at Bisley 2011
they list all the equipment action, barrels, scopes, ect. used by the top ten shooters
for f-open 7 out of 10 used a Barnard P action

I own a few and plan on at least one or two more. Everything I have built on them is extremely accurate. They are simply an outstanding action, have a long proven track record and they are very reasonably priced( and come with a very good trigger to boot). It's hard for the others to compete with Barnard when everything is considered.

If you don't mind some unsolicited advice, maybe you should take the time to figure out who you're challenging before chiming in.

Since you're obviously unaware, Ian has represented our country on multiple occasions at Bisley, is known for making among the very best stocks in the world, and was a distributor for Barnard, Defiance, Borden and others. There are a few people on here that you should just listen to, and Ian is one of them.

The originator of this account knows exactly who he`s speaking to, it`s a delibirate attack. There has been a huge isssue over the last few days involving NEA and these types of accounts.

I am not on here near as much as many and even I know you are one of two people. You must be embarrassed.

It is clear from looking at results obtained by World-class shooters that Barnard ( and, for that matter, RPA ) are actions that one ought to strongly consider is building an F-class rifle. If building a tactical rifle one can consider (amongst others) Defiance, Surgeon or Stiller as well as a trued Remington depending on your cost threshold and personal preference.
