Has anyone built a 338 Lapua with a Barnard PL action? Better yet....and had it bedded into a Robertson H&H or GBF stock? I'm interested in hearing any comments or suggestions on that particular action and stock combination. I'm undecided on barrels as well but would like to support our Canadian guys. This rifle will be spending all of it's life on a bench so I want him big and heavy. Thanks

I am having a 7mm saum being built on a Barnard P with the robertson GFB stock and topping it off with a Schmidt and Bender 12.5-50 x 56 . I live in Ottawa so was able to stop by and see the action and stock first hand before chosing. The barnard actions are incredible and that stock is really slick. It was a precision shooter in the states that recommended the stock to me. He tried them all and feels Ian makes the best synthetic stocks available. I am still waiting for the reamer( from Hugh Henreksen) but should be here in another month or so. I hope to have the project completed by june.

I unfortunately haven't had a chance to handle a GBF stock. However, everyone I've talked with has nothing but good things to say about them. Ian did email me some pictures and it's truely a work of art. Not that it matters but what colour(s) did you choose?

The stock is superb. The Barnard actions are also top notch. I spoke last night with a buddy of mine that has a 3 Barnard actions including 2 PL's and his only complaint has been the bolt knob interfering with scope when the bolt is removed, but other than that he loves them.

Ian, how does he deal with the scope issue? Back off the bolt stop screw?
